Kevin Jordan

Kevin Jordan is a member of the PSIA-AASI National Team. He is an Alpine, Children’s, and Freestyle Examiner for PSIA-Rocky Mountain. He has played a key role in snowsports education, authoring educational material such as Teaching Children Snowsports, the Freestyle Technical Manual, and contributing to the Alpine Technical Manual (2014) and the Teaching Snowsports Manual (2018). He has shared his expertise through multiple webinars, podcasts, articles and congresses, nationally and internationally.

Based in Aspen-Snowmass, Kevin has served as an instructor, supervisor, trainer, and verifier, while also playing a key role in the resort’s Bike School programs during the summer. He has worked as a coach for the Aspen Valley Ski Club, helping athletes refine their skills and shape their future in the industry. As a member of the PSIA-AASI Alpine National Team, he represented the organization at the Interski Congress in Levi, Finland, in 2023 and is looking forward to attending the next congress in Vail, Colorado, in 2027. He has traveled across every PSIA region, connecting with instructors and guiding them towards achieving their goals in the snowsports industry.

Throughout his career, Kevin has partnered and worked alongside world-renowned brands such as Head, POC, Leki, Hestra and CARV. These partnerships have fueled his professional growth, opened new opportunities for others, and helped build a strongcommunity within the snowsports industry

BRIAN SMITH

Brian Smith is a three time member of the PSIA National Team. Through his work with the team, he helps shape ski instruction in the United States while mentoring instructors and athletes across the country and internationally. He has represented the team at Interski in Pamporovo (2019) and Levi (2023), and will attend Interski Vail (2027).

Originally from an alpine racing background, Brian is known for his dynamic skiing and his ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, effective coaching. A former FIS athlete from Lake Placid, New York, he is also a USSA Level 100 Alpine Race Coach and previously served as Director of PSIA Eastern’s race programs.

Brian is a longtime trainer and examiner in PSIA-E and PSIA-RM and holds PSIA Alpine Level III certification, along with Children’s Specialist 2 and Freestyle Specialist 1 credentials. He also served as an Eastern Division Board Member and was part of the Eastern Division Alpine Race Committee.

Brian is based at Gore Mountain in New York and Aspen Highlands in Colorado and partners with Marker, Dalbello, Völkl, Smith Optics, Swany, Phunkshun Wear, Mammut, Falke and Leki. 

 

Joaquin Alvarez Amuchastegui

Joaquin has built his career working as a ski instructor, staff trainer, and supervisor in some of the world’s most renowned ski destinations, including Aspen/Snowmass and Stratton (USA); Zermatt, Verbier, and Andermatt (Switzerland); Bariloche (Argentina); and Portillo (Chile). He represents Nordica as part of their ambassador team in Switzerland.

He is a PSIA Alpine Level III instructor and Children’s Specialist 2, and was selected to the PSIA Eastern Alpine Development Team. He also holds certification with AADIDESS in Argentina. Alongside his work on snow, he contributes to instructor education through clinics, study groups, webinars, podcasts and published articles, while mentoring instructors in the PSIA Eastern Region’s Next Core mentorship program.

Joaquin is passionate about helping skiers build strong technical foundations and develop the versatility and confidence needed to perform across all terrain and conditions.

Lucas Malaret

Lucas is a PSIA and AADIDESS Alpine Full Cert instructor, a USSA coach, and a certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR). He has worked in world class ski destinations in Europe; Aspen, Deer Valley, Yellowstone Club, Mammoth, Heavenly, SugarBowl and Park City (USA); Whistler (Canada); Cerro Catedral (Argentina); and Portillo (Chile). He also runs the operations for Arpa Catski and AlSur Heliski (Chile).

Lucas has earned credentials as an Alpine Divisional Trainer in PSIA West and is a member of the PSIA Intermountain Alpine Development Team. His experience as a trainer has enabled him to mentor instructors in training programs, guiding them through the certification process.
